If you buy CBD from us, you may have already heard about an upcoming change in federal law affecting most full spectrum CBD products, including the Ananda Professional products we’ve carried for years.
We’ve received a lot of questions, so we put together this guide to explain what’s actually changing, which products are affected, what’s staying, and what you can expect moving forward.
The short version
- Congress changed the federal definition of hemp. The new rules take effect in November 2026 (possibly December; see below).
- Products that contain more than a trace amount of THC per container will no longer count as legal hemp. That describes nearly every full-spectrum CBD product on the market.
- This change is not a decision by Natural Wellness corner or Ananda Professional, nor is it specific to New Hampshire.
- Broad-spectrum and THC-free products are not affected. Our gummies, the broad-spectrum tincture, and the pet products are staying.
- Ananda has stopped manufacturing its current full spectrum products line, meaning some products may sell out as early as September. Once our existing inventory is gone, we will not be able to restock it.
- Ananda is releasing federally compliant reformulations. We’ll carry them as soon as they’re available.
What changed in the law
For years, CBD products were legal under the 2018 Farm Bill as long as they came from hemp containing no more than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC by dry weight. That small allowance is what made full-spectrum CBD possible. Full-spectrum products contain CBD alongside other naturally occurring hemp compounds, including trace amounts of THC.
In November 2025, Congress rewrote that definition. The change was included in the large government funding package signed on November 12, 2025, and it gave the industry one year to comply. Under the new definition, the limit is based on total THC rather than just delta-9, and finished hemp products can contain no more than 0.4 milligrams of total THC per container.
For perspective, a single bottle of full spectrum tincture can contain many times that amount. Almost no full-spectrum product can be reformulated to fit under 0.4 milligrams per container and still be full-spectrum. That’s why manufacturers across the country are discontinuing these products rather than tweaking them.
The original effective date is November 12, 2026. In August, the Senate voted to push that back one month to December 11, 2026, and the House passed the same bill on September 1. As of this writing it’s waiting on the President’s signature. Either way, the practical outcome for us is the same: Ananda has already stopped making the affected products, so the supply is finite no matter which date ends up on the calendar.

Anada’s current full spectrum products are being discontinued, while its broad spectrum and THC free options will remain available.

If you use full-spectrum CBD, now is the time to stock up
Ananda has told us that many full-spectrum products are expected to sell out soon, with some potentially unavailable as early as September. Once our inventory is gone, we will not be able to reorder these products.
We are not limiting purchases. It’s first come, first served, in the store and online.
A note on shelf life: most of our current inventory has a listed expiration date in 2028. The exception is the 600 mg vanilla orange tincture, which expires in December 2026. Anada has said it will provide additional storage guidance, and we’ll share that information when it becomes available.
What’s replacing it
Ananda Professional is releasing reformulated, federally compliant versions of its products, and we’ll carry them as soon as they’re available.
Some replacements are expected to be similar to the current products, but without THC. The soft gels, the salve, and the Bliss intimate oil fall into that group.
Others will look and read differently. Because removing THC changes how the product works, Ananda is adjusting the formulas and, in some cases, increasing the CBD dose to compensate. That means the replacement for a 600 mg tincture won’t be another bottle labeled 600 mg. Early information points to a new product line called Hemp Drops, with the 600 mg full-spectrum tincture being replaced by a 750 mg version, and similar step-ups for the higher strengths. The two roll-on sizes are being consolidated into a single roll-on. Packaging is changing too.

Common Questions: Is CBD illegal now?
No. CBD itself is still legal. The change is about how much THC a hemp product can contain. THC-free and broad-spectrum CBD products are unaffected and will stay on our shelves.
Can I get full-spectrum CBD somewhere else after it’s gone?
Not legally, and not from us or anyone else selling federally regulated hemp products. The new definition applies nationwide. A handful of states with their own adult-use cannabis programs may allow similar products through licensed dispensaries, but those are made and sold under state cannabis rules, not as hemp.
Will broad-spectrum or THC-free CBD work as well for me?
For many people, yes, especially at a slightly higher dose, which is exactly what Ananda’s reformulations are designed to deliver. Everyone is different, though. Why is this happening?
Congress narrowed the definition of hemp to address concerns about intoxicating hemp products, like high-dose THC gummies and beverages, that had grown up under the old rules. The new limit is broad enough that it also sweeps in traditional full-spectrum CBD, which is why so many wellness products are affected even though they were never the target.
Is this a New Hampshire thing?
No. It’s federal law and it applies in all 50 states.
