How Does Nutrition Counseling Work?
Nutrition counseling is the process of addressing your nutrition-related concerns with evidenced-based interventions. At Natural Wellness Corner, you will work with a licensed healthcare professional with specialized nutrition training. The basics of our nutrition counseling are as follows:
- Addressing root causes: when addressing nutrition concerns, getting to the root of the issue is the first step. This can be diet, lifestyle, your relationship with food, and educational gaps that prevent you from reaching your goals.
- Building sustainable habits: health is a lifelong project. Instead of crash diets that only address short-term, we help you build habits to support your health through your lifetime.
- Achieving your goals: the ultimate end of counseling is to reach your goals. We help you develop goals that address your concerns but are also within your capabilities. Goals are not universal and are very specific to each individual.
The Process
Book Your Discovery Call
The discovery call will be 15 minutes, during which you can provide your story, ask questions, and book your first appointment. If we need additional information for your first appointment such as lab work, we will let you know during the call.
Your First Appointment: Personalized Plan and Resources:
During your first appointment, our practitioners will listen to your health story, concerns, and needs to create a concrete and easy-to-follow plan tailored specifically to you. You’ll receive the necessary tools and resources to support your journey, and a food and mood journal for tracking your progress if desired.
Follow-Up Appointments:
As you progress, subsequent appointments will be tailored to your individual journey. How you feel about your progress, your health, and your changes is of the utmost importance. Follow-up appointments are typically every 2-4 weeks, and on average the duration of counseling is 3-6 months.
We believe in treating the whole person, not just your symptoms.
